Teardown

Blah blah

Lower rear quarters are toast and will be replaced at some point.
Rust damage on the rear valence. I think this is in the same location as some old repairs and bodywork.
Puppers sniffing at the old wooden boot floor.
Ripping up the old carpets and sound deadening revealing the extent of the rust damage.
The drivers side inner sill has a previous "repair".
Odometer shows just under 47,000 miles. Could be 147,000 miles though.
All the lights, trim, and glass are in pretty good shape.
Body Modifications

The mostly bare (but still stock) interior.

Center console about to be removed.
Center console removed (still needing some cleanup).

The starting point. The plan is to mount the motor a little further back than usual.

A couple additional inches up front for radiator placement.
Removal of driver side battery tray to facilitate rear suspension and exhaust routing.
Bare interior with stripped padded dash and center console removed.
Heater shelf removal. I might go further back.

Still more firewall modifications to do, but getting there.

Biggest cuts yet...

Drivetrain

Some squirrels had decided to use this motor to store their stash...

Cylinders and pistons look in pretty good shape, but have considerable debris from sitting and being occupied by rodents.
Acorn hiding behind the timing cover.
Recovered a few dozen nuts...
Looking at a few powder coat options for the valve covers.
MG motor coming out.
The 302 mostly fits.
